regional hats

At Viva la Feria we also care about regional hats such as the typical Calañés hat and the Catite hat.

The Calañés hat or Calañas hat is a hat made in a municipality with that name in the province of Huelva. They are characterized by being made with wool hair or cotton velvet. The Calañés hat is a hat with a small shape, an upward-turned brim and a lower, narrower crown at the top. It is usually worn tilted to the side of the head and held in place by a ribbon.

Another traditional Andalusian hat is the catite or catite hat, which has this name because of its resemblance to a sweet. It is also worn with a scarf tied at the back of the neck covering the head. It is a regional hat with a high conical crown and wide brim folded upwards forming a rectangular profile brim.

The regional Calañés and Catite hats are usually used with the rondeño or bandit costume, both for men and women.
At Viva la Feria we have made a selection of these regional hats in different styles and colors. Choose your Calañés or Catite hat!
